Pak: Nine Family Members Missing In Balochistan’s Kalat Since 2016 Military Operation

According to The Balochistan Post, nine members of a family from Kalat, Balochistan, have been missing since a military operation in 2016. Mahrang Baloch, the organizer of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, stated that these disappearances are part of a larger trend of enforced disappearances in the region, which she condemns as a severe form of suppression against the Baloch people.

She remarked, “Enforced disappearances are the cruelest form of suppression and it further fuels the Baloch genocide. In Kalat, 9 members of a single family were abducted during a military operation in 2016. And they still question the Baloch struggle?”

The missing individuals are Pakar Khan, Imam Dad, Abdul Nabi, Mir Muhammad, Daad Muhammad, Mustafa, Mir Jan, Sabz Ali, and Taj Muhammad. Their disappearance has left their families in anguish, searching for answers and justice.

Mahrang Baloch also shared a photograph of a woman holding pictures of her missing relatives, who were reportedly abducted during the military operation.

The Balochistan Post reported that enforced disappearances during military operations have become a common issue in Balochistan. Activists, students, political figures, and ordinary civilians are frequently taken without legal procedures, with many remaining missing for years and leaving families in distress over their loved ones’ fates.

The case of the missing family from Kalat underscores the broader human rights crisis in Balochistan, where violations persist despite ongoing advocacy efforts. The absence of the nine missing family members serves as a stark reminder of the unresolved issues in the region.
