Operation Sindoor: “Defining Moment,” Says Israel’s Envoy as He Backs India’s Right to Strike Terror

In a powerful show of diplomatic support, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has hailed Operation Sindoor as a “defining moment” in India’s defence narrative. The operation, conducted on May 7, struck nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

“Terrorism cannot be contextualised, excused, or tolerated,” Azar declared, firmly supporting India’s right to take swift action against terrorists and their backers.

Shared Values and Security Goals

Azar drew strong parallels between India and Israel in their stance against terrorism. “Both nations understand the need to act decisively to protect our people,” he said, emphasizing the importance of “moral clarity” and “resolute action.”

Growing India-Israel Cooperation

Highlighting the strategic partnership, Azar mentioned that India and Israel are rapidly expanding cooperation in defence, innovation, and infrastructure, especially through precision agriculture and water technology.

Cultural Ties on the Rise

Beyond defence, the ambassador also noted the strengthening cultural bond between the two nations through film collaborations, youth exchanges, and shared festivals.

“Together, we’re building a resilient alliance — not just to protect, but to enrich our societies,” Azar concluded.
