Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy leader Masdar has announced its goal to achieve 100 gigawatts (GW) of clean energy capacity globally by 2030. Fatima Al Suwaidi, Head of Development & Investment (APAC) at Masdar, shared this commitment during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.
“This ambitious target underscores Masdar’s dedication to accelerating the global transition to clean energy and contributing to climate neutrality,” Al Suwaidi emphasized, highlighting the company’s pivotal role in advancing the UAE’s renewable energy ambitions.
Masdar has already developed over 31 GW of clean energy projects across 40+ countries. This remarkable feat was achieved by doubling its production capacity in 2024, solidifying its position as a global leader in the renewable energy sector.
The company’s ongoing projects are strategically aligned with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, further underscoring its commitment to sustainable development and innovative energy solutions.
Al Suwaidi highlighted that Masdar’s goal of achieving 100 GW of renewable energy capacity is integral to supporting global efforts for climate neutrality. “Masdar plays a vital role in shaping a sustainable energy future and enhancing the UAE’s leadership in the clean energy sector,” she added.
The announcement comes as part of Masdar’s larger mission to address global energy challenges while contributing to environmental sustainability. Through partnerships, technological innovation, and investment in renewable energy, Masdar is setting the stage for a cleaner, greener future.
