Israel Army Admits ‘Complete Failure’ in Hamas Attack

The Israeli military has acknowledged a “complete failure” in preventing the deadly October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas-led militants. The admission came as part of an internal investigation, revealing major security lapses.

IDF Accepts Responsibility

According to an Israeli military official, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) failed in their mission to protect civilians. “October 7 was a complete failure, the IDF failed in fulfilling its mission to protect Israeli civilians,” the official stated, as reported by AFP.

He further emphasized the gravity of the situation, adding, “Too many civilians died that day, asking themselves, where was the IDF?”

Casualties and Aftermath

The Hamas attack on Israel killed hundreds of civilians and triggered a large-scale war in Gaza. According to reports, the ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 48,000 Palestinians.

Security Lapses and Investigation

The internal probe has shed light on how the IDF was unprepared for the assault. The military is now facing intense scrutiny over its intelligence failures and response to the attack.

With the acknowledgment of these failures, further investigations and policy changes are expected to address the security shortcomings that led to one of the deadliest attacks in Israel’s history.
