In a recent development in the ongoing Gaza conflict, Hamas launched two rockets towards Israel, targeting the city of Tel Aviv and its suburbs. According to the Israeli military, the rockets fell into the sea. Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was in retaliation for what they described as “Zionist massacres” against civilians and the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Despite explosions being heard in Tel Aviv, Israeli media reported no casualties or damage to structures. The Israeli military confirmed that one of the rockets landed in the sea off Tel Aviv, while the other did not enter Israeli territory.
This attack comes as Israel remains on high alert for potential actions by Iran and its allies following recent deaths of senior figures from Hamas and Hezbollah. Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of 19 Palestinians, including a mother and her newborn twins.
The United States indicated that ceasefire talks scheduled for Thursday are expected to proceed as planned, with an agreement still possible. The Israeli government plans to send a delegation to finalize details, but Hamas is seeking a practical plan for implementing the proposal suggested by U.S. President Joe Biden in May, rather than further negotiations.
