Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. He accused him of trying to pull the United States into a new conflict in the Middle East.
Araghchi wrote on X, “Netanyahu is directly MEDDLING within the US Government to DRAG it into another DISASTER in our region.” He also warned against “ANY mistake against Iran.”
Netanyahu Accused of Controlling US Policy
Moreover, Araghchi claimed that Netanyahu was trying to interfere in US-Iran talks. He said, “Netanyahu is attempting to brazenly DICTATE what President (Donald) Trump can and cannot do in his diplomacy with Iran.”
According to Araghchi, Netanyahu’s actions are harming efforts to reach a peaceful solution.
Iran Criticizes US Role in Gaza and Yemen
In addition, Araghchi condemned the US for supporting Israel’s war in Gaza. He also criticized American strikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
He tweeted, “LETHAL support for Netanyahu’s Genocide in Gaza and waging WAR on behalf of Netanyahu in Yemen have achieved NOTHING for the American people.”
Netanyahu Blames Iran for Missile Strike
Meanwhile, Netanyahu blamed Iran after the Houthis launched a missile near Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday. He promised a harsh response.
However, Iran firmly denied any connection to the attack.
Nuclear Talks Delayed Again
At the same time, nuclear talks between Iran and the US were postponed. The meeting was scheduled for Saturday. Oman, acting as a mediator, said “logistical reasons” caused the delay.
So far, the two sides have held three rounds of talks since April 12. These are the highest-level contacts since the US exited the 2015 nuclear deal under Trump.
Netanyahu Demands Total Shutdown of Iran’s Nuclear Program
Furthermore, Netanyahu has called for a complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear plans. He said a valid deal must “remove Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons” and stop missile development.
Trump Suggests Allowing Civilian Use
Later, Trump said he would only accept the “total dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear program. However, he signaled he might allow nuclear energy for electricity.
He told NBC News, “Now, there’s a new theory going out there that Iran would be allowed to have civilian – meaning to make electricity.” He added, he “would be open to hearing” the idea.
Iran Urges US to Change Its Stance
On Monday, Araghchi called the US approach “unrealistic and illogical.” He urged Washington to adopt a fairer view.
During a phone call with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, he said Iran can solve concerns about building nuclear weapons. He stressed that “reaching an agreement is fully within reach.”
Iran Wants Talks with European Powers
Finally, Araghchi said Iran is ready to restart talks with the UK, France, and Germany. These countries were part of the 2015 deal that collapsed after the US withdrawal.
Although Western powers accuse Iran of trying to develop a nuclear bomb, Tehran continues to deny the charge.
Earlier on Monday, Araghchi stated, “a deal is achievable, and there is only ONE PATH to achieve it: DIPLOMACY based on MUTUAL RESPECT and MUTUAL INTERESTS.”
