Air India announced on Friday that it is suspending all flights to and from Tel Aviv, effective immediately and until further notice, due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The airline’s decision comes in response to the ongoing situation in the region.
Air India stated on X (formerly Twitter): “Given the current situation in parts of the Middle East, we are suspending our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect until further notice. We are closely monitoring the situation and prioritizing the safety of our passengers and crew.”
The airline also mentioned that passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to or from Tel Aviv will receive a full refund. Additionally, Air India is offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation fees for flights affected by the suspension.
Previously, on August 2, Air India had announced a temporary suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until August 8 due to heightened tensions in the Middle East. The situation has intensified following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran on July 31, allegedly by Israeli forces.
