A large crowd of men was captured in a viral video jumping, dancing, and doing push-ups in the middle of a road in the United Kingdom as they celebrated Diwali. The clip shows crackers being set off while cars and trucks block the roadway.

In the video, some men climb on top of vehicles, while one individual does push-ups on the street, and another launches a series of rockets into the sky. The air is filled with loud music and the sound of fireworks as the men cheer and dance, seemingly inebriated. Although it’s unclear who the group is, one of the vehicles features a prominent Haryana sticker.

Pedestrians look on in shock, with some recording the boisterous Diwali festivities on their phones.

Similar loud and public Diwali celebrations were reported in various locations in Toronto, Canada. One video depicted hundreds of revelers blocking a busy intersection, setting off firecrackers, and performing burnouts with their cars. Another clip featured Indian-origin men confronting police after parking their vehicles in the street to dance and play music.

Internet Reactions

The user who shared the UK celebration video criticized the “youth of Haryana” for creating a “nuisance” and leaving a “pile of garbage behind in the name of celebrating Diwali.” The video quickly gained over half a million views, attracting numerous comments condemning the behavior.

“Insane, such people should be sent back immediately,” remarked one user. Another commented, “True. Had they cleaned up the garbage, they would have gained respect. The Japanese are known for cleaning up empty tetrapacks, paper cups, etc., after every event they participate in, whether in their own country or elsewhere.”

A third user added, “This is what happens when you don’t have immigration standards in place.”
