The Union Ministry of Health has blocked the fake website demanding money for vaccination. The fake website claimed to provide #Covid-19 vaccine for Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has alerted people ‘not fall prey to such fraudulent websites.’ Union Minister of State HFW said, “The site ‘mohfw.xyz’ has been blocked. A case is registered and investigation taken up. Please be cautious. Do not fall prey to such fraudulent websites.”
“A website ‘mohfw.xyz’ is impersonating the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is claiming to offer #covid19vaccine for Rs 4,000-Rs 6000,” tweeted the handle of Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check which was the first one to bring the matter into light.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan retweeted and appreciated @PIBFactCheck and @MoHFW_India for their swift response to bust a fake website. “Appreciate @PIBFactCheck and @MoHFW_India for their swift response to bust a fake website collecting money on pretext of registration for #covid-19vaccination.” tweeted Dr Harsh Vardhan.
He urged “people to exercise abundant precaution and verify accuracy of info on various channels of Govt Communication”.
