Feluda test to start in Delhi-NCR after 10 days

The fastest and cheapest Covid-19 testing kit, which would give results in less than 40 minutes, was launched on Friday in collaboration with the Apollo group of hospitals and TataMD.

Apollo Hospitals will begin with a roll-out of 10,000 tests in NCR from the first week of December. The kit will be marketed as “TataMD CHECK”, announced Tata Medical and Diagnostics Ltd.

“We have a capacity of 1 million testing kits, but we can scale up the quantity of kits according to the demand,” said Girish Krishnamurthy, CEO and MD, Tata Medical and Diagnostics.

The test is likely to cost less than the RT-PCR test and be 90% accurate.

“This kit will not be available in pharmacies. It will be available only in well-equipped labs, and special training will be provided to use it,” Krishnamurthy added.
