Doctors, scientists, among others have started an online campaign to support 26-yearold Dr Abhishek Bhayana, a dentist from Maulana Azad Institute of Medical Sciences, who allegedly died of Covid-19. The deceased was tested negative but had all symptoms of coronavirus. Now, the supporters of the online campaign are demanding to declare him a “Covid warrior” and compensations for his family as well.

Raising doubts on false Covid test reports, Dr Anil Chandna, member of Dental Council of India said, “There are certain tests where reports are falsely negative. Dr Bhayana kept on saying that he had Covid-19 symptoms but still he was tested negative. He was such a young doctor and can’t die like this. He was a Covid warrior and his family should get compensation”.

Meanwhile, Resident Doctors Association of AIIMS (AIIMS RDA) has demanded Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to form an expert committee for professional enquiry in unexpected and unexplained deaths of frontline warriors during the coronavirus pandemic.
