To express gratitude and honor Safaimitras and their families, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh organized ‘Swachh Bharat Divas’ and ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ at Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38, here today for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts to keep the city Swachh.
Banwarilal Purohit, Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest during the auspicious occasion. He honored the Safaimitras and their families for their selfless service in the presence of Anup Gupta, Mayor, Dharampal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS, Secretary, Local Body, Vijay Namdeo Rao Jade, IAS, Finance Secretary, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Municipal Commissioner, Kanwarjeet Singh Rana, Senior Deputy Mayor, councilors and officers of MCC and Safaimitras along with their families. Emphasizing the invaluable contribution of Safaimitras in keeping the city clean and extending heartfelt gratitude for their selfless service, the Governor appreciated the honesty of the Safaimitras and said that these inspiring individuals and their families have played a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the city beautiful. He said that Swachhanjali, a day dedicated to recognizing the commitment of Safaimitras towards a cleaner and #GarbageFreeIndia, showcased the remarkable achievements and contributions of these individuals. Their hard work, perseverance, and unwavering dedication serve as an inspiration to everyone, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
He said that he was deeply honored to be a part of this Swachh Samman Samaroh event and to have the opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of Safaimitras. Their dedication and hard work in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the city is truly inspiring.
