‘Master Strokes’ brings artists across the country together

The exhibiton is a collective effort of the curator and artists who worked together to give it the right shape and meaning.

For an artist, the canvas is a mouthpiece. The artist speaks with vibrant colours, bold strokes, and fine lines. An art exhibition named “Master Strokes” was recently held at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Kishore Labar and Priya Monga.

Master Stokes 2022, was a group art exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Bhaskar Singha, Rajender Kumar, Ganga Narayan Maharana, and many others, curated and conceptualised by Kishore Labar. It showcased works from different genres under one roof. The Master Stroke was a collective effort of the curator and artists. They both worked together to give it the right shape and meaning.

As the name suggests, ‘’Master Strokes’’ signifies the best of everything and the artists who showcased their creativity are all experts in their kind of work and imagination. Artists from all over India came together as one to show that art is true and an artist is tied to his love and perfection. The artists worked all day and night to give a different experience to the audience. Art is an expression or application of creative skill and imagination by an artist to produce a work that is appreciated primarily for its beauty or emotional power. Creating a piece of art is a master’s work where the artist communicates with the object and does not imitate another creator’s work. Artists who create art put their creativity forward and fill it with imaginative ideas to make a unique masterpiece, spruced up with distinctiveness and sprinkled with liveliness.

The exhibition explored how transfigured, charged and complex imagery challenges rigid perceptions. It took one through their unique journey from different phases of aesthetic formulation: from being chronicles, appropriating the roles of narrator, illustrator, image maker, and activist, to being myth-shapers. The artist used a diverse range of techniques, mediums, and configurations to constitute this presentation.
