India’s leading car company Maruti Suzuki has witnessed a 2 percent dip in its total wholesales at 1,74,551 units this May 2024.

Earlier, the company has shipped around 1,78,083 units, to its dealers in previous may last year.

However, the sales of total domestic passenger vehicles, increased marginally to 1,44,002 units previous month, from 1,44,002 units, from year ago period.

But sales of mini cars like Alto and S-Presso, decreased to 9,902 units from 12,236 units in May 2023.

The compact cars like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR, also witnessed the fall from 71,419 units to 68,206 units in year-ago month.

But utility vehicles like Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6, witnessed record sales of 54,204 units previous month, against 46,243 units earlier.

In May 2024, van sales reached 10,960 units, down from 12,818 units the previous year. Similarly, the sales of the light commercial vehicle Super Carry also witnessed the fall, which now stands at 2,692 units compared to 2,888 units in May 2023.

MSI reported a decline in exports last month, with figures dropping to 17,367 units from 26,477 units in the corresponding period last year.
