CHENNAI: A day after superstar Rajinikanth met chief coordinator Arjuna Murthy and in-charge Tamilaruvi Manian, district secretaries were called for a meeting with the top office bearers. On Thursday, district secretaries from 6 districts including Chennai district were called for a meeting and a meeting with another 6 district secretaries will be held on Friday.
Sources say that during the meetings with the district secretaries, specific instructions were given to them to strengthen the party at the grassroots level before the elections. They also added that there will be revamp in district secretary appointments to send a message to the erring office bearers.
There are speculations that fans are not happy as the loyalists are not being considered for the top job appointments. Three important appointments for the post including that of treasurer will be made soon. Addressing the media, Rajinikanth’s brother Sathyanarayana said that hard working loyalists will be given due importance at the right time.
In another development, Rajinikanth’s long-time friend M.K. Alagiri on Thursday ruled out any alliance with Rajinikanth. To the question of whether he will work jointly with the Tamil superstar, he quipped stating that he will don a role in his movie if he gives him a chance.
