A video surfaced on social media showing a man being hung upside down and beaten on suspicion of stealing a motorbike, leading to the arrest of five individuals in Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district, according to police on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Chichali police station, and a case of kidnapping and assault has been filed, an official reported.

The arrested individuals were brought before the court and subsequently placed in judicial custody, stated Additional Superintendent of Police Nagendra Pateria.

In his complaint filed on Sunday, the 29-year-old victim alleged that Kamal Basor and his associates abducted him, confined him in a room, and beat him while accusing him of motorbike theft.

When questioned about allegations that the victim was subjected to electric shocks and had petrol poured on him, the ASP responded that the investigation was ongoing “as per the facts narrated by the victim.”
