The Mumbai police have arrested the 35-year-old man from Navi Mumbai ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.

Meanwhile, the arrested man has been identified as Rameshwar Mishra, a science graduate for entering the rally posing as an Army soldier.

The man was arrested 90 minutes before PM Narendra Modi was to reach Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Moreover, Mishra tried to enter the high-security VVIP area by claiming himself to be a Naik from the “Guards Regiment” of the Army.

Under sections 171, 465, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Mumbai police have registered a case.

Earlier on Friday the accused Mishra was produced in Bandra court on Friday and till 24 January he has been sent to police custody.

However, on Thursday PM Modi was in Karnataka and Mumbai visit where he inaugurated two new Mumbai metro lines 2A and 7, a 35-km long elevated corridor from Andheri to Dahisa worth Rs 38,000 crore.

Earlier on Wednesday, in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mumbai, no drone, para-gliders, remote control microlight aircraft flying activities were allowed in the jurisdiction of BKC PS, Andheri PS, Meghwadi PS, Jogeshwari Police Station on 19 January.

However, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also inspected the BKC ground where PM Modi will address the people.
