Reports of customers receiving bakery patties contaminated with fungus are increasing in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In a recent incident, a customer discovered fungus in 5-6 patties purchased from Annapurna Sweet House and Bakers, a restaurant in Ramkatora. The entire confrontation with the bakery staff was captured on camera and has been widely shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The irate customer returned to the bakery, displaying the contaminated patties in front of the staff while recording the interaction. When offered a replacement, the customer refused and instead sought assistance from a police officer working for the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The officer accompanied the customer back to the bakery to address the issue.

The customer emphasized the potential health risks, noting that one patty appeared to contain saliva. He insisted on lodging a formal complaint and demanded strict action against the bakery.

The video caption on X warns, “Patty lovers, be cautious. A young man opens up a patty in a well-known restaurant in Ramkatora, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Watch the video to understand why your doctor often advises against consuming such items. Please avoid fast food and similar products.”
