The Nagpur police’s cyber unit has filed a complaint against a man for reportedly making offensive remarks about Union minister Nitin Gadkari on social media. The accused, Dattatray Joshi, made some allusions to Gadkari in the messages shared on WhatsApp, the police claim. Gadkari’s office alerted the cyber cops to this via Twitter and requested that they open an investigation.
Later, a representative of the senior BJP leader’s Nagpur office lodged a police report and demanded severe punishment for the creator of the viral posts.
In light of this, a complaint was filed against the accused under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act, an official said on Monday.
