Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Midnapore for campaigning in West Bengal. He said, “I warn TMC goons that on 2 May, each goon will be taught a lesson. We are not going to leave them.” In an exclusive chat with The Sunday Guardian, Chouhan said that West Bengal has been devastated because of violence and jungle raaj.
Q. Elections are nearing close in West Bengal, how is BJP is tackling the TMC?
A. BJP is encountering TMC but now TMC is being encountered by the public. There is only one compilation in the hearts of the people: Remove TMC and bring BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached out to the people of Bengal on the plank of development and betterment of the people. And people are liking this.
Q. Mamata Banerjee is constantly mentioning the BJP government as an outsider in Bengal during her recent campaigns. What is your reaction to this?
A. We are all sons of Mother India, who is an outsider, who is an insider? Mamata Didi does the work of dividing the people of India into Hindus and Muslims. She made the intruders her own and is trying to divide citizens of West Bengal. We come only for campaigning, not just West Bengal, the part of the country in which elections are held we go there.
Q. Law and order is highly shaken in the Nandigram area, how are going to set up peace here if you win?
A. Law and order in West Bengal does not exist as of now. There exists only cut-money, tolabaazi, corruption, and money-laundering which we now have to put to an end. If the upper head is cleaned up, then there is no question of corruption on the grassroots level. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi made such a plan that money directly goes to the accounts of the people. We will eliminate corruption and it won’t take more than a month to clean up the mess. The miscreants will be removed who have been terrorising the public. Our government is equipped to provide as gentle governance as flowers to the general public but for those who are hooligans, crooks, it as strict as budget.
