A mother bear was recently captured on video in Bartlett, New Hampshire, entering a car and taking off with a bag of chips, accompanied by her cubs. The footage, which shows the bear climbing through a taped window to retrieve the snack before rejoining her cubs, has quickly gained traction on social media.
The video was shared by ABC affiliate WMUR-TV on their YouTube channel.
After grabbing the chips from the vehicle, the mother bear returned to her cubs. According to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, bears are “opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available.”

While this particular bear did not cause any significant trouble, aside from the car owner losing a bag of chips, there have been instances where bear encounters have led to more serious incidents.
For example, in an old video, a bear turned aggressive and attacked its handler during a circus performance. The incident occurred in the northwest Russian town of Olonets in 2019, where the bear, known as Clubfoot, was performing an act called the Garden Wheelbarrow.

The handler, who yanked on the bear’s snout, provoked the animal’s aggression, leading to an attack. Another circus crew member intervened, striking the bear and bringing it under control as the terrified audience fled the arena.
