It was 1993 when this coast first came into limelight when it became the landing coast for explosives used in the Mumbai 1993 blast. In the last 5 days state excise officials and Ratnagiri police recovered hashish weighing around 270 Kgs spread over two districts of Konkan Ratnagiri and Sindhdurg.
Massive search operation on the Konkan coast resulted in the seizure of 14 packets containing hashish (CHARAS) .
Assistant commissioner of state excise Shrikant Kudalkar says that operation is still on to nab the traffickers and the Drug Lord .
Local residents have been asked to keep a vigil and watch about strangers moving around the area . 10 suspects have been put on radar though arrest is yet to be made .
Agencies are on toes after the seizure . Investigation reveals that packets recovered contain marks of Afghanistan. It was a few weeks ago such contraband drugs were recovered from Gujrat Porbandar in 2022 .
It is believed that Pakistan and Afghanistan are the countries who are indulging in sending drugs to India .
Agencies are on look out for a main handler and a trafficker .
