Maharshtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has accused the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) of copy-pasting the poll manifesto of Mahayuti. CM Shinde had three seperate rallies on Wednesday at Thane, Kalyan and Ambernath.
CM Shinde was in Ambernath to campaign for Shiv Sena MLA Balaji Kinikar who’s the candidate from the Ambernath constituency. While addressing the crowd, CM Shinde said that the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) first opposed the Ladki bahin yojana which was introduced by the Mahayuti government for women in state which helps them with a financial aid of Rs 1,500 per month. And now the MVA has introduced the Mahalaxmi yojana in place of it, which they initially opposed when the scheme was introduced earlier this year. He further added that this shows that they are stealing and copy-pasting the Mahayuti manifesto.
CM Shinde also praised Kinikar for the works done in the Ambarnath constituency during his tenure as an MLA. Shinde further said that today every kind of development took place in this constituency be it sports complexes, playgrounds, sports grounds, medical colleges, shooting ranges, roads, etc.
CM Shinde said on Thursday that in two and a half years, MVA looted the state and set it back by ten years.
Addressing a press conference, CM Shinde said, “Who are the looters, who are the developers, or who are the murderers of development? In two and a half years, they have looted the state and set it back by ten years. Many projects and works have come to a halt. They have taken money in wood, taken money in khichdi.”
He further said that he and his government is working for the welfare of the people and for development. “We want to nurture our beloved sisters. Fake things are being spread that Muslims are scared, Dalits, Adivasis, Muslims, and Christians are afraid, but now people have become wise. We have given money to beloved sisters of all castes,” he said.
Further, the Maharashtra CM defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “ek hai to safe hai” remarks. “PM Modi said, ‘Ek Raho Safe Raho’, is that wrong? Modi is saying to stay united because the Congress is working to break the ground,” CM Shinde said.
Meanwhile, stepping up his attack on Congress in poll-bound Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday alleged that the opposition party wants one caste to fight the other and urged people to stay united while emphasising slogan of “hum ek hain to safe hain”.
He also attacked the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, saying its vehicle has no wheels or brakes” and there is fight over who will drive it.
“Congress is unhappy with your unity and it wants one caste to fight the other. Will you allow this conspiracy to succeed? We have to stay united to defeat the dangerous plans of Congress, hence my appeal to you is ‘hum ek hain to safe hain (we are safe if we are united),” he said.
Campaigning has intensified for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra with both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) making efforts to woo the electorate.
The Maharashtra polls are scheduled for November 20 and counting will be held on November 23.
