SP general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav can contest from Azamgarh. Samajwadi Party is making a big plan regarding this Azamgarh. It has been a bastion of SP Former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, he was MP from here from 2014 to 2019. After this, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav won the Lok Sabha election from here. BJP’s Dineshlal Yadav Nirhua won from here in the by-election held after his resignation.
The SP may not have won the Lok Sabha by-election held in Azamgarh in 2022, but Akhilesh Yadav knows that Azamgarh has been a strong fort of the SP. That’s why a strong leader should be contested from here. So that the BJP can be stopped from breaking into its fort.
Azamgarh district has total 10 (Gopalpur, Sagdi, Mubarakpur, Azamgarh, Mehnagar, Atraulia, Nizamabad, Phulpur-Powai, Didarganj, Lalganj) assembly constituencies. In the 2022 assembly elections, the SP had won all the 10 seats in the district. BJP wants to break into SP’s strong fort Azamgarh. Keeping this in view, the SP wants to field a strong leader from here in the Lok Sabha elections. So that our stronghold can be saved.
