On the first day of December, consumers were hit with a price hike as commercial LPG cylinder rates increased by INR 16.50. According to Indian Oil, the cost of a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi now stands at INR 1,818, up from INR 1,802. In Kolkata, the price has risen to INR 1,927.
This increase is expected to raise food and beverage costs in hotels, restaurants, and catering services. The hike follows a significant INR 62 increase in commercial LPG rates in November.
Despite the rise in commercial LPG prices, domestic cylinder rates remain unchanged at INR 803 per cylinder. The last revision in domestic prices occurred in August, offering some relief to households amid rising inflation.
The recent adjustment in commercial LPG prices underscores ongoing fluctuations in fuel costs, impacting sectors reliant on bulk cooking gas.
