Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tikaram Jully fiercely targeted the ruling party during the Governor’s address. Jully said that the Governor was made to speak falsely in his address because the Governor used to praise the Congress government till six months ago, but it seems that he had been dictated from Delhi to speak so.
Blaming the Bhajan Lal government, he raised questions about the 100-day action plan being discussed when only one cabinet has been formed. He said that it was necessary to appoint that cabinet so that the Governor’s address could be approved.
At the same time, accusing the BJP, he said, “The people sitting in the ruling party are toppling the governments of other parties. But, such people will never be able to find Lord Shri Ram. Even God does not support such people.”
At the same time, while cornering the ruling party on the issue of ERCP, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully said that the government should answer whether Rajasthan will get the same amount of water as it was getting in the old MOU or not, and also, whether new dams will be constructed or not.
He alleged, “The Chief Minister has signed the MoU without reading it. Notification of Lok Sabha elections is going to come after a few days, hence this MOU has been signed just before the elections so that the public can be confused.”
Jully also said that the government should answer why this scheme was stopped for 10 years.
Raising questions on the system, he said that it is a serious matter that there is no document in the House on the subject that is being discussed.
Previous BJP govt increased debt by two and a half times: LoP
Regarding the financial condition of the state, he said that when his government was in power in 2008, the debt was very low, but when the BJP government was formed between 2013-18, the debt of the state increased by almost two and a half times to Rs 3.11 lakh crore as compared to the Congress rule. At the same time, when the Congress government was removed from power in 2018-23, this debt increased only one and a half times.
Jully said that Congress has left a debt of Rs 5.80 lakh crore on the state. Also targeting the Centre, he said that the country has incurred three times more debt in the last 10 years than it did in the last 65 years.
Controversy over the removal of Ambedkar’s photo.
Leader of Opposition Jully said, “Our party is a party that believes in Baba Saheb Ambedkar and BJP despises Ambedkar. The Governor was made to read against in this House. Six months ago, the Governor had praised this government at this very place. It seems that just as the slip had come from Delhi, similarly the address also came from Delhi. After the results, observers came from Delhi and without gathering the opinion of the MLAs, a slip was handed over.” He said that he feels ashamed of such thinking. “Here we bow to Gandhiji and the minister removes the pictures of Gandhi and Ambedkar from his office,” Jully said.
He said, “Those who are in power today are working to topple the governments of other parties, they will take power but will never be able to find Lord Shri Ram. Ram likes only honest people.”
MLAs and defeated candidates are threatening officials.
Jully also mentioned the working style of many BJP MLAs and defeated candidates. He said, “The MLAs of Hawa Mahal walked in the markets carrying maces as if they had gone to play the role of Ram Lalla.” He accused Sahada, Shahpura Bhilwara, Shergarh and Mandal MLAs of threatening the officials. Jully said that elections are held and when one wins, one feels happy, but success should not turn their head.
