The Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022 has been passed by the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. Earlier on Monday the bill was tabled and was introduced by Cabinet Minister Deepak Kesarkar. The provision of the bill will bring the Chief Minister and the cabinet under the purview of the anti-corruption ombudsman. Meanwhile, before the inquiry, the Lokayukta will have to seek the approval of the assembly against the chief minister.
