Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exercised his voting rights on Monday, emphasizing the importance of voting for governance that promises a brighter future. He cast his vote at Polling Booth No. 138 in Kadapa Constituency’s Jayamahal Anganawadi. Addressing reporters, he urged voters to consider the governance of the past five years and choose wisely for a prosperous tomorrow.
The Kadapa Constituency witnesses a competitive race with Congress’s YS Sharmila, TDP’s Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy, and YSRCP’s YS Avinash Reddy contesting. YS Avinash Reddy, the incumbent MP from Kadapa, faces a challenge from YS Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. The TDP, in alliance with the BJP, fields Chidipiralla Bhupesh Reddy.
The fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections commenced in 96 constituencies across nine states and one Union Territory, alongside polling for all 175 seats of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and 28 seats of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. A total of 4,264 nominations were filed for these constituencies, with key contests featuring prominent leaders like AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and others. So far, polling has proceeded smoothly and peacefully in 283 Lok Sabha seats till phase 3.
