Madhya Pradesh’s Betul Lok Sabha constituency heads to repolling today as few EVMs got damaged on May 7’s fire accident.
As a result, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had called for repolling at four booths in the Multai assembly segment. Which is being conducted on May 10, in the aftermath of EVM’s damage due to fire on Tuesday night.
Currently, the repolling is ongoing at Rajapur, Kunda Raiyat, Chikhlimal and Dudar Raiyat of the Multai assembly segment.
However, what sets this election apart is that indelible ink will be applied to voters’ middle fingers, while first-time voters will have it applied to their index fingers.
“As per the direction of ECI, we are applying ink on the middle finger. We have motivated the people of the village and have informed those who reside outside that they should come and vote.” said administrative officer Rajesh Kumar Dubey.
