Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE: Proceedings Adjourned Till August 6

The proceedings have been adjourned till August 6, 2025, at 11 am.

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha resume proceedings as Opposition continues protests demanding a debate on Bihar's Election Commission's voter roll revision. 

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari pointed the attention to the presence of CISF personnel in Parliament, in a response to the Supreme Court's remarks on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's comments about the India-China clash. 

He said, "I gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha that the way CISF was given permit into the Parliament was the murder of democracy... Entire opposition has unitedly opposed this as it is against the freedom and purity of the Parliament. Government should express regret over this... The paramilitary forces should never be called inside the Parliamentary premises..."

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh says, "Election Commission is a Constitutional institution. Unfortunately, for some time now, the Election Commission has been functioning only at the behest of the PM and HM...Serious matters have come to light in Karnataka, there has been a scam of voter list." He added, "In Bihar, a large number of voter names have been deleted across all districts...My question is, people elect representatives to the Parliament. Won't they discuss the process through which they are elected? What kind of democracy is this? We call ourselves Mother of Democracy and you can't discuss electoral process in Lok Sabha!...Govt...

Union Minister JP Nadda says, "I have told these people several times that I was in the Opposition for over 40 years, they should take tuition classes from me. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijju said, "I would like to ask one thing for clarification. LoP is a very senior leader. Mallikarjun Kharge raised the question. BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda slammed the Opposition parities at the Rajya Sabha for their protest demanding a debate on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar electoral polls and its cancellation.

He said, "Your idea of democracy seems to end with disrupting ruling party leaders while they speak in Parliament – this is not democracy, it's anarchism. If you don't know how to oppose properly, take tuition from me on how to behave as the Opposition."

The proceedings at the Parliament House began with a tribute to the former Jharkhand Minister Shibu Soren, who passed away on Monday at the age of 81 years, after a prolonged illness. 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah heads towards the Parliament Building along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Kiren Rijju, and all the NDA MPs after the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting.

A resolution on Operation Sindoor was passed at the NDA Parliamentary Party Meeting.

As part of a major outreach, the Prime Minister enabled 59 MPs from various parties to visit 32 countries to share India’s stance on terrorism, stressing that any attack anywhere is a crime against all humanity.

The involvement of Opposition MPs highlights India’s democratic strength and the PM’s belief in unity on national issues.

RSP MP N.K. Premachandran sharply criticised U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims that India’s oil trade with Russia is fueling the conflict in Ukraine, stating that such comments are a direct affront to India's sovereignty. he said, "Unreasonable claims are being made by the American President. It seems to be an insult to the sovereign character of our country. How can the American President say all this? He is dictating the whole world on the basis of the tariff war. It is unfortunate that we have to react in the sharp sense because we are not subordinate to America or any other...
