Novel explores love, friendship, and resilience in the Himalayas

Author Vijaya Sandireddy, also a team leader at Infosys, has unveiled her second novel, “When The Mountains Moved.” This book intricately weaves themes of love, hope, perseverance, and adventure against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas. The narrative focuses on Preethi, a resilient team leader at an Indian IT firm, and her transformative journey during a team trek to the Himalayas.

Preethi, scarred by a turbulent past and a broken relationship with her first love, Rishi, has evolved from a lively girl into a composed, resilient woman. Her team manager, Arjun, admires her strength and ideals, holding deep yet unexpressed feelings for her. When their team decides to take a break from their demanding work schedule to embark on a Himalayan trek, none foresee the life-altering experiences awaiting them.

The trek becomes a path to healing for Preethi, forcing her to confront her deeply buried feelings for Rishi and the mysteries of her past. Arjun’s admiration grows, but he struggles to express his love for her. The group’s journey is filled with exhilarating adventures, testing their perseverance and the unbreakable bonds of friendship. As they face various challenges, they experience moments of breathtaking adventure, heartfelt connections, and laughter.

Throughout the trek, the narrative delves into whether Preethi will overcome her haunting past and learn to love again, and whether Arjun will muster the courage to reveal his feelings. The book is not just about romance but celebrates true love, the strength of friendships, and the transformative power of trekking on an individual.

Vijaya Sandireddy, speaking about the launch, said, “When The Mountains Moved is an exhilarating journey of the protagonist Preethi, who decides to take a break from the mundane and embarks on a trek in the breathtaking Himalayas.”

Sandireddy, known for her debut novel “Bitten By Love” released in 2020, holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from BMSCE, Bengaluru. Currently leading a team at Infosys in the same city, she received praise for her first novel, which was among the top 100 Indian romance novels on Amazon. Her writing style is known for its simplicity, honesty, and raw appeal, keeping readers emotionally hooked. “When The Mountains Moved” continues this legacy, offering an intriguing love triangle that evokes curiosity and deep emotional engagement.

“When The Mountains Moved” promises an immersive experience for readers, reflecting the emotional depths of its characters’ journeys and the breathtaking beauty of the
Himalayan trek.
