Nobel laureate in literature Annie Ernaux to make her first journey to India

Annie Ernaux will make her first visit to India this week as part of a group of French writers who will be the Guest of Honor at the New Delhi World Book Fair, which begins on Saturday.

“We were so honored when Annie Ernaux accepted our invitation, especially after learning that she had only accepted two invitations abroad since receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature.” It will be her first journey to India at the age of 82,” said Julia Trouilloud, Attache for Books at the French Institute in India.

Ernaux was awarded the Nobel Prize for her courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements, and collective restraints of personal memory will give a special lecture at Pragati Maidan on Saturday and address a conference at the Shri Ram Centre the following day.
