The Siddharth Malhotra-starrer ‘Yodha’ hit screens on March 15 amid fanfare. The film is expected to take a good start at the box office as it features promising action sequences. According Akshaye Rathi, a film exhibitor, the film may collect between Rs 5 crore and Rs 7 crore on the day of its release.
“Yodha can tune up to 5-7 crore of business easily on its opening day, given the appeal of the film,” Rathi told ‘The Daily Guardian’.
He added that the film’s content is compelling, which should help it grow after the first day.
“It has a large intrinsic value and is an action entertainer. The content of the film is compelling and exciting. It keeps you on the edge of your feet. The film will only grow from Day 1,” said Rathi.
‘Yodha’ comes a week after ‘Shaitaan’, which is doing well at the box office. Rathi, however, feels that the Ajay Devgn film won’t affect it
“Both the movies are very different from each other, they have different genres and yes, ‘Shaitaan’ has had a good run in the theatres with Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika’s powerful performances. I don’t think either of the films will dent each other,” he said.
‘Yodha’ is an action thriller that features Sidharth Malhotra in the role of a ‘soldier’. The film follows the character on a daring rescue mission to save a hijacked flight. The film also stars Disha Patani, Ronit Roy, and Raashii Khanna.
‘Yodha’ opened in theatres on March 15. This is Sidharth’s first release after ‘Mission Majnu’, which was released on OTT last year.
