The premiere of Jamie Lloyd’s production of Romeo & Juliet, starring Tom Holland, faced a setback as last-minute production issues led to its postponement. Originally scheduled for May 11 at London’s Duke of York’s theatre, the opening night has been rescheduled to May 23. Ticket holders were informed of the change on Thursday (May 9) and given the option to exchange their tickets. The production, which features Francesca Amewudah-Rivers as Juliet, had a highly anticipated opening, selling out within hours in February, with an estimated 60,000 people vying for tickets online.
