Actor Sikandar Kher is gearing up for the premiere of his debut Hollywood film, ‘Monkey Man’. The much-anticipated movie is set to premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, followed by its US release on 5 April.
The action-thriller follows the story of a young man, played by Dev Patel, who seeks justice for his mother’s death caused by corrupt leaders. However, his quest takes an unexpected turn, leading him to become a champion for the oppressed, transforming into the titular ‘Monkey Man’.
Alongside Kher, the film features Patel, Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Makarand Deshpande, Ashwini Kalsekar, among others. Patel not only stars in the film but also makes his directorial debut and serves as a producer. Kher expressed his excitement for the premiere, stating, “Excited to reunite with the entire cast and crew and see the film with everyone together at the premiere. It was a long one for us. We got a phenomenal response at SXSW last month which was pretty iconic in itself, there’s a sense of excitement for the film’s release now”.
‘Monkey Man’ is set to release in India shortly after its US premiere.
