The gorgeous Citadel star has worked in Hollywood films such as Baywatch and the Matrix Resurrections. Now, in a new interview, the actress recalled the ‘biggest obstacle’ she faced as an Indian actor in Hollywood. PeeCee said there was a perception that she would ‘cater to just a South Asian audience’ and that people outside of the diaspora ‘may not be interested in her’ if she led a TV show in America.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the Citadel star said, the biggest obstacle that she faced as an Indian actor was the limited view of what she was capable of. According to her, it has been a massive change, and she is very proud to have colleagues and peers that have the strength and the bravery to be able to ‘swim through a dense water that has kept us out for a very long time, and demand a seat at the table.” In the same interview, the actress said although there is still ‘a long way to go’ she remains optimistic about the future.
On the work front, the actress has a couple of exciting projects in her kitty. Next, she will be seen in Love Again with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. The trailer of Love Again has already created a lot of hype. Apart from this, she will be seen in Citadel. Talking about her Bollywood projects, PeeCee has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Farhan Akhtar’s directorial is about a girl’s road trip.
