Mumbai Police nab fraudster pretending to be a part of Akshay Kumar’s production house

Juhu Police Station in Mumbai has detained a person for trying to deceive Akshay Kumar’s production house by falsely promising employment, as part of a scheme to defraud social media influencer Pooja Anandani.

The apprehended individual, identified as Prince Kumar Sinha (29) reportedly attempted fraudulent tactics towards Anandani, but she managed to evade being deceived due to her prompt actions.

Explaining the series of events, an officer from Juhu Police disclosed that the suspect initially reached out to Anandani, presenting himself as ‘Rohan Mehra,’ allegedly claiming to be an employee of Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films.

Despite lacking any affiliation with the production house, the suspect lured Anandani with a job offer, asserting involvement in a movie project centered on the Nirbhaya case, and arranged a meeting with her in Juhu.

During their initial meeting at a nearby coffee shop, he purportedly asked Anandani to pose for photographs, which were to be taken by a photographer who claimed association with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.

Following this, they scheduled another meeting at the JW Marriott hotel in Juhu, where Anandani had already alerted the police about the situation.

The officers intervened and apprehended Sinha at the designated meeting place.

As per details from Juhu Police, on April 3, the accused, utilizing his mobile phone, reached out to Anandani using the pseudonym Rohan Mehra, falsely portraying himself as an employee of Cape of Good Films.

However, investigations unveiled that there was no record of such an individual working at the production house. Anandani, upon uncovering the deception, swiftly informed the production house, confirming the fraudster’s deceit.

In response, Anandani filed a complaint with the nearby Juhu Police Station, prompting the registration of a case against the perpetrator and his subsequent arrest.

This incident underscores the prevalence of fraudulent activities in the entertainment industry and emphasizes the significance of remaining vigilant against such schemes.

The Juhu Police laud Anandani’s astuteness, which foiled a potential scam. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, with authorities urging individuals to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of offers before committing to them.
