Variety reports that American filmmaker David Robert Mitchell’s enigmatic new feature film, starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, now has both a title and a release date. Titled ‘Flowervale Street’, the Warner Bros. and Bad Robot production is set to debut on May 16, 2025, in Imax format.
Mitchell, the director and writer of the project, will also serve as a producer alongside J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. While details about the plot remain under wraps, the film has been previously described as a thriller. The main cast is rounded out by Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.
Convery, known for leading Netflix’s ‘Sweet Tooth’, and featuring in Elizabeth Banks’ ‘Cocaine Bear’, is currently involved in Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ alongside Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, and Christoph Waltz. Stella, recognized from ‘Nashville’, recently appeared in the Sundance hit ‘My Old Ass’ alongside Aubrey Plaza.
The film was acquired by Amazon-MGM for over $15 million, with plans for a wide theatrical release this summer. Convery and Stella are slated to portray Hathaway and McGregor’s children. McGregor is currently starring in the Paramount+ series ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’, while Hathaway’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘The Idea of You’ has garnered praise following its SXSW premiere and is set to premiere on Prime Video on May 2.
