Ananya Panday Becomes First Indian Brand Ambassador for Chanel

Ananya Panday extends her list of international brand associations with yet another milestone as she becomes the first-ever Indian brand ambassador for Chanel. The news was announced by the French luxury house on April 16, which is a landmark moment considering how global fashion brands are looking to increase their presence in India, one of the world’s fastest-growing luxury markets.

In a statement to The Business of Fashion (BoF), Chanel expressed their enthusiasm for the appointment. The brand stated Ananya “embodies a generation of changing tastes and fiercely independent spirits who approach the world with their curiosities.” The house further added, “Her values align with Chanel, making her the ideal candidate to embody the house.”

Ananya also spoke on how crucial this collaboration is, quoting the brand to capture ‘the essence of personal liberation, empowering one to boldly embrace their individuality with timeless elegance’.

Gossip on her Chanel collaboration began after she walked for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris last year in a look from Chanel’s Cruise Collection. She was joined by her sister Rysa Panday at the event, further fueling hopes of a possible collaboration.

Ananya’s Global Brand Presence

Chanel is the newest among a string of global partnerships for Ananya. She now leads campaigns for Swarovski and has earlier been featured in Jimmy Choo’s India campaigns. She is also brand ambassador for Lakmé, Beats, and Timex.

Luxury Labels and Indian Stars

Ananya adds to a list of increasing number of Indian stars who have emerged as the face of high-end brands. Deepika Padukone is endorsed by Louis Vuitton, Alia Bhatt by Gucci, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by L’Oréal for a very long time now. Sonam Kapoor, who was spotted attending Dior’s Fall 2025 show in Kyoto on April 15, remains the face of the historic French fashion brand.

As India continues to emerge as a major market for international fashion, Ananya Panday’s association with Chanel heralds a growing acknowledgment of Indian presence in the luxury arena.
