Actor Vijay has made a generous donation of Rs 1 crore towards the construction of the new building for the Nadigar Sangam. The South Indian Artistes’ Association expressed their gratitude to Vijay for his contribution.
The initiative to construct the new building in Chennai was led by actor Nassar, the head of Nadigar Sangam, a few years ago. However, due to financial challenges, the project had stalled.
In addition to Vijay’s donation, reports indicate that veteran actor Kamal Haasan also contributed Rs 1 crore towards the construction. Udhayanidhi Stalin, an actor and minister, also made a significant donation to the trust.
The new building is expected to feature a 1000-seater auditorium. Further details about the progress of the construction work are awaited.
