The Supreme Court Collegium has agreed to the request made by Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya of Calcutta High Court with regards to her transfer to a different Court. Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya sought the transfer for personal reasons.
The notification release dated February 13, 2024 stated that Justice Bhattacharya has now been transferred to the Telangana High Court.
The notification stated that by communication dated February 12, 2024, Ms Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya has sought a transfer from the Calcutta High Court to any other court for personal reasons.
The Supreme Court Collegium agreed to the request and recommend that Ms Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya be transferred, in the interests of the better administration of justice, to the High Court for the State of Telangana.
The Supreme Court Collegium members ie., CJI Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justices Sanjiv Khanna, B R Gavai, Surya Kant and Aniruddha Bose signed the notification.
