After 578 days of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala assassination, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab police achieved a significant breakthrough on Thursday with the arrest of Vikramjit Singh, famously known as Vicky, an operative associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang. During the operation, law enforcement recovered a Chinese pistol with live cartridges and seized a Toyota Fortuner vehicle, a spokesperson confirmed.
Vicky allegedly received instructions from an overseas handler to eliminate a rival gang member and was reportedly deeply involved in smuggling weapons and drugs across international borders. The arrest of Vikramjit Singh deals a severe blow to organized crime in Punjab. The Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, revealed that Vikramjit has a long criminal history, facing charges in 20 cases, including those under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
DGP Yadav further disclosed Vikramjit’s alleged involvement as one of the shooters or co-accused in the sensational murder case of their rival Jordan at a gym in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, in 2018, alongside deceased gangster Ankit Bhadu. The arrest underscores law enforcement’s continued efforts to dismantle organized crime networks and curb illicit activities involving cross-border smuggling of contraband in the region.
