The cars speeding with each other on the road, might end up at the same red light where they must wait for quite a few minutes. At that point, one might wonder “what was the point of all that hurry when we were all going to end up the same way”. Yet I would always want people to finish their tasks on time, never to have a laid-back attitude especially when it comes to letting others wait.  But never to hurry each task of life so much that we feel “once this is over, I’ll sit and relax”. One of the greatest gifts of a spiritual being is the ability to enjoy each task, not with the intention speeding and getting over with the duty, but in enjoying each moment with delight.  “Today I watched two different perspectives in the Target parking lot.  A mom with three littles ones rushing to put the babies in their seats and then the groceries in the back. You could see she was visibly flustered and, in a hurry, to get out of there. Then I saw a grandma, with her three young grand kids. She put them in the back, unloaded some juice boxes from her bags and sat there laughing with them while they drank their juices. No rush at all.  In the moment, as a mom with young kids, we are in such survival mode, it feels like it’s always a rush, rush, go, go kind of world!  Then we blink and they are grown. Then one day we will become grandmas and remember how fast those moments went, and we will sit and live in them a little longer.” Let’s learn how to live each moment of life in its entirety. After all, that’s what life is all about.
