Uttar Pradesh Hajj Committee Chairman Mohsin Raza stated on Monday that the identities of those supporting the accused in the Ayodhya gang rape case are well known.

Raza criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders, alleging that they incite violence wherever they gain power. “Everyone knows who the accused is, who supports him, and his connections with the Samajwadi Party. Crime rates were highest during the SP government, yet they always shifted blame,” he said.

He questioned the SP’s recent call for a DNA test, asking, “Why is this DNA test suddenly being demanded now? How many DNA tests were conducted during your tenure?”

SP leader Moeed Khan and his house help are accused of raping and blackmailing a 12-year-old girl who worked as a daily wage employee in Khan’s Ayodhya home. Khan was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping the girl over a period of two months. A case has also been filed against him for allegedly threatening the victim’s family to settle the case.

On Saturday, the Ayodhya district administration demolished the “illegally constructed” bakery of Moeed Khan.

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati also criticized the Samajwadi Party’s demand for a DNA test, questioning how many such tests were conducted during their rule. “The strict action taken by the UP government against the accused in the Ayodhya gang rape case is justified. However, the SP should explain how many DNA tests were done against similar accused during their government,” she said on X.

Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav supported the call for DNA tests, stating that justice should be sought through proper legal procedures. In a post on X, he said, “In cases of misconduct, justice should be pursued through DNA tests of the accused rather than through allegations and political maneuvering. Guilty parties should be punished according to the law, but if allegations are proven false, those involved in making them should also face consequences. This is our demand for justice.”
