Filmmaker Karan Johar is donning the director’s hat after five years of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ for his next film titled ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.
Talking about his directorial journey and being back on the director’s chair, Karan exclaimed, “This is the beginning of a new journey and my way back home — all at once. It’s time to go back to my favourite place, it’s time to create some eternal love stories from behind the lens. A very special story, truly immersed in the roots of love and family.” He captioned the the video.
The film stars the hit ‘Gully Boy’ duo Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The cast includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in in pivotal roles. Jaya, who has worked with KJo in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, will play Ranveer’s grandmother whereas as Dharmendra and Shabana will essay the role of Alia’s grandparents.
Karan also announced, “I am thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, headlined by none other than Ranveer and Alia and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy.”
Alia shared the news about her exciting new project on social media while Ranveer was pumped to share this special birthday announcement.
