The customs department at Kochi airport made a seizure on Tuesday, confiscating 1069.57 grams of gold valued at Rs. 57 lakhs from a passenger who arrived from Bahrain via Calicut.
The individual, named Asraf and hailing from Kozhikode, concealed four compact capsules of gold within his body.
The gold has been taken into custody, and an ongoing investigation is underway. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
