As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) witnessed a historic win in the MCD polls, party chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and several party leaders gathered for a big show of strength.

After the party registered a win on 134 seats out of 250 in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections, Kejriwal addressed the party candidates and the workers. He said, “I congratulate the people of Delhi for this win and thank them for bringing change. We have fulfilled the responsibilities that the people of Delhi gave us. I am indebted to you for believing in me and giving me love. We all have to work together. I appeal to all the candidates and parties that politics was only till today, we all have to work for the betterment of Delhi.”

He asked for PM Narendra Modi’s blessings after the win. He asserted, “I appeal to the Centre and ask for Prime Minister Modi’s blessings to make Delhi better. We have to end corruption, we have to clean Delhi… I am thankful to those who voted for us. For those who did not vote for us, we will get their concerns addressed first.”

BJP’s nearly 15-year dominance comes to an end. This is also Kejriwal’s party’s first victory, and at the sizable gathering, he highlighted the fact that it is the party’s fourth triumph in the city in over eight years. For the AAP, which has been working hard to increase its national presence, it is a significant boost. Earlier this year, it was successful in creating a government in Punjab.
Earlier in a tweet, Kejriwal wrote in Hindi. “Thanks to the people of Delhi for this grand victory and many congratulations to all. Now all of us together have to make Delhi clean and beautiful.”
