Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson RP Singh on Tuesday said that Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was eyeing the Punjab CM post either for himself or his wife.
“Even though the Aam Aadmi Party has declared MP Bhagwant Mann as the party’s chief ministerial face, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is eyeing the post either for himself or his wife Sunita. Kejriwal has started a new tradition of political deception. They cannot be trusted under any circumstances,” said the BJP leader at the party’s state election office.
He said that Arvind Kejriwal had said in Delhi by swearing on his children that he would not enter into an alliance with anyone after the elections, but had compromised with the Congress.
Singh said that after the family-oriented parties like Congress, Akali Dal, Samajwadi Party, now the Aam Aadmi Party is also going towards familism. “Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal has never campaigned in any election till date, but in Punjab she campaigned for Bhagwant Mann. The way he has presented the relationship as his wife’s brother-in-law, he has never done this before, nor has he campaigned in any state by laying the foundation of kinship in this way in any election.”
Taking a jibe at the opening of liquor contracts in Delhi, Singh said that increasing the number of liquor contracts by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi also seems to be a decision taken under the influence of Bhagwant Mann.
“Arvind Kejriwal is not trustworthy and it cannot even be believed that he will make Bhagwant Mann the chief minister, if their government comes in power. Only the BJP’s double engine government can bring development, progress and prosperity in Punjab,” he said.
