The Delhi government is planning to bring some Diwali cheer to its employees, with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal approving a one-time bonus (referred to as a Diwali bonus) for the government’s 80,000 employees. Kejriwal announced a bonus of 7,000 rupees for all Group B and C employees of the state government in preparation for the upcoming festive month.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the decision will cover around 80,000 employees, and the government will be spending around 56 crore on the payment of this one-time bonus. Kijeriwal shared a video message on X (formally Twitter) and said, “Only due to the hard work of these employees, we have been able to turn Delhi into a city of aspirations for the people of Delhi. The Delhi government will provide a 7,000 bonus to Group B non-gazette and Group C employees. There are around 80,000 such employees. It will lead to an expense of 56 crore.”
He further said that this initiative of the Delhi government will bring cheers among the families of government employees. He said while addressing the press, “This move of the AAP government will double the joy in our employees’ homes during the festive season. As a government, we have always made efforts to improve the lives of our employees, and this effort will continue in the future as well”.
