Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal lashed out at the BJP following the numerous raids on party leaders in Chhattisgarh. It is nothing but a misuse of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

He went on to say that “we are not frightened by anyone because we follow Indian law. PM Modi and the saffron party must remember that the ED and CBI raids will not deter Congress. We are ready to fight as per the Indian law.

These kinds of raids have no sense except as a political vendetta that the ruling party has been using against the opposition. ED arrives in the Congress-ruled states where elections are set to be held in the near future, which is well known to everyone, he added.

While criticising the BJP, the Congress leader categorically revealed that misuse of the government’s probe agency won’t bring success to the saffron party.

Everyone has been watching the drama they are trying to create just before the plenary sessions of the Congress party, which will be held from February 24 to 26 in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur. The BJP has been attempting to push us back, but they are completely perplexed, according to the general secretary.

Currently,   KC Venugopal has been camping in Raipur to look after the preparation for the 85th Congress Plenary session. Top brass of the party is expected to take part in three-day sessions.

ED has conducted raids in the wake of the multi-crore coal scam, several Congress leaders, such as Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav, Bilaigarh MLA Chandradev Prasad Rai, state Congress treasurers, and chairmen of state-owned corporations, have been targeted.
